| North Georgia is surrounded by beautiful lakes and mountain views! In Blairsville, we have LAKE NOTTELY. It is about 20 miles long, 106 miles of shoreline, and 4,180 acres. The Nottely Dam (located about 12 miles North of town) is 184 feet high and stretches 2,300 feet across the Nottely River. The water level varies in the winter months. There are many home sites along the shoreline. Various public boat ramps to enjoy an afternoon of swimming and family picnics. It is a terrific mountain lake with clear water and abundant striper, bass, and catfish population.
The Chattahoochee National Forest, which borders much of Lake Nottely, adds to the wonderful scenery.
Davenport Mountain and Beasley Knob are areas to ride ATVs. In Suches you will find Coopers Creek Recreation Area. Vogel State Park located about 20 minutes South of Blairsville offers hiking, camping, and a beach area for summer fun. Hike to Helton Creek Falls and see the wondrous beauty God has created! There are many hiking trails along the Chattahoochee Forest. Also, in Blue Ridge there is the Aska Adventure Area and the Scenic Railway.
Brasstown Bald is Georgia's Highest Mountain rising 4,784 feet above sea level. Hike to the top and see the spectacular 360 degree views and wildlife.
Blairsville has a variety of small restaurants. Grab some take-out and go to Meeks Park! Let the kids play on the playground, enjoy a family game of softball, or walk along the walking trail. Relax and skip rocks in the peaceful creek!
